Today I’ve been reflecting…

I chose to get into Clinical Hypnotherapy back in 2013, after being a Personal Trainer for four years.

During those early days as a PT, I helped clients successfully lose weight, improve their strength, flexibility, you name it.

I even helped a wide range of people (some complete newbies, some experienced blackbelts and competitors) to vastly improve their boxing and kickboxing skills.

One of my big wins in PT wasn’t to do with weight loss, or any of the above though.

This particular client had a number of fused vertebrae due to previous spinal issues. He still had back pain, range of motion limitations and terrible posture.

Through our time together, we strengthened his core, alleviated his pain and sorted his posture. So much so that he grew two inches!

All that being said, there was one theme that kept cropping up with my clients.

Despite the fact that they ‘knew’ consciously, what they should be doing to achieve their goals, they simply weren’t doing it.

Clearly, there was something deeper at play here.

THE SNOWBALL OF CURIOSITY TURNED INTO AN AVALANCHE

Around the same time, I was having a crisis of confidence myself.

See, I was still competing internationally in Taekwondo and Kickboxing, but for some reason, I started fatiguing really badly in tournaments.

To the point where I would go in to the arena, expecting it to happen again- which it did- and I’d lose- which I did.

I went to see a local Hypnotherapist in Doncaster, along with all the preconceived notions I had…

He was going to make me cluck like a chicken.

Maybe he’d brainwash me into thinking I was Elvis and subsequently dance around his office.

Maybe he’d control my mind into thinking I was eating an apple, when it was in fact, an onion.

You know, all the classics.

What I got instead, blew my mind. All those issues I was having with confidence…

Gone.

All those negative beliefs I had around my fitness…

Gone.

Talk about broadening my horizons.

AND THEN I MET PAUL MCKENNA

Fast forward to the beginning of 2013.

I was reading an article in the Sunday Mirror newspaper. The article was about Paul McKenna’s new book on the ‘Havening’ Technique.

I found it fascinating.

Then I noticed a little column down the right hand side of the page. Paul was running a competition in which he’d select three people in the UK to go to his house in London to work with him.

Now, at the time I was reading this, I was going through some personal issues and wasn’t in a great mindset.

So I thought, “what the hell”, and I entered the competition.

To my complete shock, I was selected!

A couple of months later, I arrived at Paul’s doorstep in Mayfair. Nervous, I knocked on the door and tentatively walked inside.

There he was.

He welcomed me and we began talking.

We hit it off straight away, due in part to our mutual admiration of Bruce Lee.

A little later, Paul lead me through some hypnotic techniques and once again, my mind was blown.

This was the lightbulb moment.

I said to him, “I want to get into the hypnotherapy and mindset coaching industry, it’s so powerful, what qualifications do I need to do?”

He replied:

“You should do the NLP Practitioner qualification with Dr Richard Bandler, he’s my mentor and taught me everything I know.”

So I did.

Shortly after this, I enrolled in a free taster weekend of Clinical Hypnotherapy in Doncaster, which was running a few miles from my home.

I went along and immediately felt like I belonged.

This was what I was supposed to do.

After raiding my bank accounts to find the funds, I booked on to the course.

A WHOLE NEW WORLD OPENED UP TO ME

By July 2014, I had completed all my tuition.

I was now a fully-fledged Clinical Hypnotherapist.

I began working with clients straight away and the rest, as they say, is history.

To my surprise, the mind blowing experiences kept coming:

ONE:

The PT client with a trapped nerve, or so she thought, who could barely walk without shooting pains down her legs. I improvised some pain management hypnosis for 25 minutes. When it was over, she jumped up, leaned over and picked her belongings up off the floor. Her pain was completely gone and it stayed gone.

TWO:

The client who was training hard in the gym four times per week, but the weight just wouldn’t shift. She worked with me for weight loss hypnotherapy for a month. Two months after we’d finished, she’d lost two stones in weight. And kept it off.

THREE:

The young, upcoming Taekwondo star, who was a beast in training, but struggled to perform during competition. He’d been selected for the Junior Olympics in Argentina, with a promise of being selected for the Senior Team GB if he was successful. I had four weeks with him before the biggest competition of his life. No pressure. He performed out of his skin, a new, elite performance mindset installed, arriving back in the UK as a professional athlete on Team GB.

FOUR:

The lifelong, high level cricket player  who was considering quitting the sport because of a bad game that destroyed his confidence and stopped him performing for months. As we worked, we delved into his subconscious thoughts, feelings and behaviours, modifying his neural pathways. Less than two months later, he was back as the most valuable player on his team. His sport performance mindset at a new level.

FIVE:

The high flying financial services worker in Denmark, struggling with the demands of her job, her professional goals and her family life. She was on the verge of burnout, considering leaving her job. After completing my eight week programme, she felt in complete control. Managing her time better. And she beat all competition to get a highly sought after promotion at work.

SIX:

The HNW individual in the Middle East who was struggling to manage the demands of the business and personal life. Hypnotherapy for anxiety was on the cards. Through a completely bespoke process, his anxiety was gone, his confidence shot up, he felt better at work, closing bigger deals and felt better at home.

SEVEN:

The busy mum with clinical depression. Having been prescribed anti-depressants, which were numbing her feelings rather than helping her to feel better, she was at her wits end. Within two months of working together, she was no longer taking the anti-depressants, she was loving life, full of confidence and went back to her childhood passion for swimming (which she hadn’t done since she was a kid).

EIGHT:

The student with big dreams of being an airline pilot, but wasn’t getting the grades he needed in school. With less than two months before his final exams, it was crunch time. Utilising hypnosis, NLP and other psychological techniques, his anxiety lifted, he started retaining his school work easier than ever before and went on to get the grades to train as a pilot.

NINE:

The Junior Team GB athlete who’s anxiety was running riot, not only in her sport, but also in her school work. During our short time together, she overcame the anxiety, started fulfilling her potential in sport, winning more and more medals internationally; as well as getting better grades in her exams at school.

TEN:

The young kickboxer with dreams of winning World Championships, but the nerves were debilitating. Incorporating visualisation techniques, alongside hitting the pads with me, we were able to diminish those nerves, flip his negative self-talk on its head and channel his favourite fighter. He went on to win in the nationals and compete internationally on his quest for world gold.

And those are just a few off the top of my head.

Since 2014 I’ve been helping people around the world to overcome the things holding them back and enabling them to move forward to achieve success in sport, business, their work and so much more. I’ve had a Harley Street Hypnotherapy Clinic, I’ve travelled to my clients location and I’ve worked online. Geography is no longer an issue.

I help athletes win more. More trophies, more medals, championship belts, more money.

I help business owners and stressed out corporate workers to relieve that stress, destroy anxiety and skyrocket their professional lives and earnings.

It all comes down to rewiring your subconscious mind.

I’m like the satnav, you’re driving the car and I’ll guide the way.

P.S: As one of my clients recently said:

“Stuart can help you to overcome any mental blocks, anything at all that’s holding you back. Not just for now, but for always. He’ll give you all the tools you could ever need.”
